ISRO ICRB Scientist/Engineer 'SC' Syllabus & Interview Evaluation Matrix

Official ISRO ICRB exam pattern consisting of Part A (Core Discipline based on GATE Syllabus) and Part B (Aptitude/Reasoning), followed by 100-mark technical interview.

Negative Marking Scheme: 0.33 Marks deducted for each wrong answer in Part A (1 mark awarded per correct question)

Part A: Core Engineering Discipline (80 Questions)

120 Minutes (Combined with Part B)Total: 80 Marks

Discipline Specific Engineering Core (GATE Aligned)

  • Branch specific core (CSE / ECE / ME / Civil)
  • Fundamental mathematical modeling and circuit/structural analysis
  • Advanced application problems without calculator requirement

Part B: Aptitude & Reasoning (15 Questions)

General Intelligence, Reasoning & Diagrammatic Puzzles

  • Numerical ability, pattern matching, spatial reasoning, logical deduction

Stage 2: Technical Interview (Personal Board)

45 to 60 MinutesTotal: 100 Marks

Fundamental Engineering Knowledge & Research Aptitude

100 Marks
  • Core B.Tech project defense and experimental methodology
  • Real-time problem solving and whiteboard derivation
  • Subject fundamentals (minimum 60% required to qualify)

Recommended Preparation Strategy

  • Master GATE standard numericals as ISRO questions directly test fast analytical derivation.
  • Be thoroughly prepared to explain every aspect of your B.Tech major project in the interview.
